Djibouti monitors the situation of Djiboutian communities in the Middle East
The President of
the Republic of Djibouti, H.E. Ismail Omar Guelleh, through the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is closely monitoring the
situation of Djiboutian citizens in the Middle East region in light of the
rapid developments and the ongoing military escalation in the region.
In this context,
the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Abdoulkader
Houssein Omar, has been conducting a series of telephone calls since this
morning with the heads of Djiboutian diplomatic missions in the region to
ensure the safety of diplomats and members of the Djiboutian communities.
He has also
issued instructions to raise the level of vigilance within Djiboutian embassies
and to continuously monitor the situation of Djiboutian nationals 24 hours a
day, in order to guarantee the provision of all necessary forms of support and
protection.
The Ministry
calls on members of the Djiboutian communities in the region to exercise
caution, remain in regular contact with our country’s embassies and consulates,
and comply with all instructions issued by the authorities of their countries
of residence.
The Ministry
also confirmed that it will continue to closely monitor developments in the
situation.
