H.E. Ambassador Abdoulkader Houssein Omar met on Thursday, 15 June 2023, the Ambassadors of the member countries of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) accredited to the State of Kuwait.

The Ambassador informed his colleagues that His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of the Republic of Djibouti, was elected by his peers to the post of President of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development at the 14th Summit of Heads of State and Government of IGAD member countries.

At the same time, the Ambassador of Djibouti took over the chairmanship of the IGAD Group of Kuwait, which was attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Sudan, the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the Chargé d'affaires of the State of Eritrea and the Chargé d'affaires of the Republic of South Sudan.
