On Thursday 11 July 2024, the ambassadors of the Comoros, Somalia, Kenya, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, South Sudan and Eritrea elected H.E. Abdoulkader Houssein Omar as chairman and dean of the group of East African ambassadors to Kuwait. The Djibouti ambassador praised the work of his predecessor, Somali ambassador H.E. Abdullahi Odowa, and thanked his colleagues for their trust and support.
